A Guide to Making a Seashell Gel Candle
Adding a seashell gel candle to a room’s existing decor can certainly enhance its appeal. This is especially true when you already have a beach or nautical theme in place. This dainty lighting solution can also be used outside to create a serene and calming ambience on an outdoor patio or deck. Written below are some tips on how to get this home improvement project done.
Start by placing the gel wax into your double boiler on the stove. This type of wax is made especially for candle making and can be found at any craft store.
Proceed to heating the gel until it reaches a temperature of about 180 degrees when measured with the cooking thermometer. Stir the pot’s contents steadily to avoid clumping and to keep it from sticking to the sides.
Next, attach the wick to the bottom of the decorative container using hot glue. Then, add craft or candle dye to your wax while it is cooking. Make sure to use a colouring material that is compatible with your candle type. You can now pour the mixture into the glass and insert seashells.
